Excelsior Studios
Excelsior is a creative community of studios and workshops based in a newly renovated warehouse in the park royal industrial neighbourhood.
Composed of 50+ members, the building also features communal areas and an event space. The community exists to support and also to provide individuals with the space to create and thrive amongst bustling Park Royal.
The building itself is located on the site of the former Britannia Works, the creators of the Excelsior lamp. Accessible via central line from North Acton, Overground lines from Harlesden and soon the newly established Elizabeth line.
Studios and workshops at Excelsior are designed to accommodate a diverse range of trades. All studios have abundant natural light with good ceiling heights. They are well insulated, individually heated and benefit from their own sinks and power supply. There is good communal space and contemporary well maintained WCs and showers. Each member chooses which type of space suits their individual needs. Due to flexibility of the framework, members can move between spaces and readjust their space type (free space permitting) to suit changing requirements.
Our residents include painters, printers, dancers, designers, sculptors and programmers. Community is an integral part of our identity as a creative environment. We work closely with each member to ensure their space is right for their individual needs. We love to accommodate individuals who think outside the box.
The design of the building fosters interaction and collaboration while also providing individual privacy. We aim to hold regular events to foster both conversations and connections between members of the community.
