London based artist Joanna Gilbert paints TRUTH. Her truth.
But it’s a Truth that many will identify with.

A late starter when it comes to art, Joanna Gilbert is a recent MAFA graduate from UAL Chelsea College of Arts where she was awarded a distinction for her ‘NOTHING TO BUY’ body of work.

It was during her Masters, her divorce and reaching some of the lowest points of her life, she found an invincible strength within her.

In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love

In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm
I realized, through it all, that…
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.

Joanna has shed her fear of failure, of meeting expectations, of living a lie. She has gained an understanding of life that she wished she had known when she was a teenager.

Something quite magical is emerging.
