*PINCH* TO ZOOM - WORKS BY BEATRICE VORSTER & ELLIE ANTONIOU CURATED BY AMELIE MCKEE
*pinch* to zoom is the result of an ongoing collaboration between artists Beatrice Vorster and Ellie Antoniou. The exhibition presents a central modular system: a mild steel frame figure that functions as a fictional battery, powering a collection of objects in the space such as durational prints, editioned stickers, magnets, and aluminum vent pieces.
The battery life is maintained through the polarization of the intimate duo show within the capsule, representing an eternal dialogue between two friends and collaborators. Gestures of mark-making, such as scratches, graffiti, and grinding, instigate the potential of becoming an image. These images reveal signs of decay and accumulation, suggesting an entropic understanding of time bound to materiality.

SAT 16 Sept — 4:30 - 6:30pm
Dana Fouras will host a vibrational performance – showcasing her unique approach to sound and music, drawing on her broad ranging catalogue of sounds to create a vibrational sound experience across the rooftops of Park Royal.
— — —
Dana Fouras sources and soundtracks music for theatre, dance and film. A prodigious child musician and former soloist with The Royal Ballet, her work has been commissioned by English National Ballet, National Youth Dance Company and choreographer Russell Maliphant.
For this event at Queensrollahouse she begins with a vibrational approach to sound and music, drawing on her broad ranging catalogue of sounds to create a vibrational sound experience.
Music, as an informationally rich or “thick” event, cannot be reduced to perceptual dimensions such as pitch, rhythms, etc. or to its physical constituents. What matters, is the dynamic, multifaceted, and multisensorial phenomenon of the music, with effects that can be “devastating, physically brutal, mysterious, erotic, moving, boring, pleasing, enervating, or uncomfortable.
Dana’s soundscape will encompass sounds that are built on this, including:
Solfeggio frequencies
Sources of infrasound and low-frequency noise, found in natural phenomena and man-made sources
