WORKSHOPS

  • Trace The Stitch

    SAT 16 Sept — 2pm - 4pm
    SUN 17 Sept — 2pm - 4pm

    STUDIO 10

Sharing the love of textiles and embroidery, artist Megan Segre and Ukrainian guest artist Kristina Gaidamaka will be offering a workshop, Trace the Stitch. The history of embroidery in Ukraine is more than one thousand years old. In the Ukraine people often encode happiness, fate, life and will in the ornamentation of embroidery or Vyshyvanka.

Vyshyvanka is considered a talisman against all evil that can happen in human life. It symbolizes family memory, loyalty and love in the family.

Come try your hand at stitching a traditional Ukrainian design to take home or contribute to an on-going community project by leaving a few stitches behind. Workshop suitable for adults and children ages 5 and up.

Ticketed for first hour 2-3pm (max 6 people) / Drop in thereafter
