Talking & Exploring
ABOUT
Join local culture and history enthusiast Joanna Dudzinska for a fascinating journey through Old Park Royal, uncovering it's rich industrial heritage, popping into local businesses, sampling foods from around the world and meeting some of the people that make this little-known area of London, so unique.
Talking & Exploring was set up and is run by Joanna Dudzinska, to bring people together in order to explore various areas off the beaten tourist trail and discuss diverse topics of interest.
Joanna is a qualified tour guide and English teacher from Poland as well as a culture and local history enthusiast who finds joy in connecting people and making others shine. She is helped by Anthony Smith, a retired English teacher who mostly worked with refugee and migrant learners.
The walks we offer are mainly in the West London area, are usually not long, both in distance and time, and are as much about sharing information and perspectives as learning about what you are seeing. We arrange visits to different businesses and creatives’ studios and chat to people on the way. There is always space for an unexpected encounter.
Participants are encouraged to share their memories and knowledge. Those who wish so can stay on with us at a chosen restaurant or café of local character to chill out and chat more.
Routes may vary, see booking pages for full details.
Talking and Exploring is supported by OPDC’s Great Place Scheme, funded by Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
