ABOUT

Zakee Shariff Studio is a creative studio based in London. Launched in 1998 and run by artist, textile designer & art director, Zakee Shariff.

Zakee has worked in studios within the W10 & NW10 for 25 years. Zakee created her self titled clothing label, Zakee Shariff, and collaborated with clients and galleries across the globe. Zakee is very passionate about the area and has developed a deep connection to its diverse cultures. She lives in NW10 and has a large community of friends & family around West and North West London.

Zakee’s work is inspired by her spirituality, growing up in London, her Asian/Indian/African background, healing, empowerment, beauty, travel, adventure, music & street culture.

“LOVE PORTAL” BILLBOARD

It gives Zakee great pleasure to create this new public art commission, her first of this scale. Her Zakee Shariff Love artwork was first launched in 2016 on a hand printed T-shirt, this was followed by Zakee Shariff Reggae Love, a Red/Gold and Green screen printed blended version, in celebration for her love of Notting Hill Carnival.

It was complete serendipity for Zakee to be asked, by Produce UK & Hanna Benihoud, on behalf of OPDC and Make Your Landmark to be 1 of 3 artists for the billboard project. Zakee instantly knew it had to be inspired by Zakee Shariff Love. Zakee wanted her artwork to hold a potent, impactful message, particularly during a time when people are going through much turbulence and change.
